Wonders of Art International (WA)
Wonders of Art international is one of the most influential organizations in producing arts creations, and curation or presenting arts events in Asia.
Founder and artistic director Serina Chen, is a pioneer in propelling finest arts onto international stage, and creating rich and diverse multi-disciplinary and cross-cultural works. As the founder and artistic director of Taipei Arts Festival, World Music Festival Taiwan and International Dance Workshop Festival, which are festivals of great influence among numerous arts societies. Chen's vision and leadership have catalyzed the establishment and growth of performing arts industry.
Wonders of Art International makes exceptional achievement in producing multidisciplinary arts production. In 2002, The Feast of Han Xizai was created. This classic painting treasured by Palace Museum in Beijing had been made into a live music and dance theater. In 2007, it was performed at the plaza of Imperial Supremacy Hall in the forbidden City (the Palace Museum in Beijing), which was the first non-royal performing group over the past 500 years that had entered the Palace and made a large scale performance. Also in 2006, Wonders of Art created a fantastic popular Chinese Musical In Love with Carmen starred the best Asian pop star A-Mei in Taipei Arena. In 2007, another large-scale outdoor spectacular show The World Ship made a big blast in Kaohsiung New Year's eve celebration.
Commissioned by the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo , Wonders of Art International produced the only thematic show for the EXPO 2010 - Window of the City which set up a groundbreaking success and milestone for multimedia theaters and is a wowing theatre experience for every audience watching the show. Rated as the Best Presentation of World Expo Shanghai, Window of the City showcased over 500 shows during the Expo with almost 100% of audiences satisfaction, and unquestionably attracted the most media attention at the Expo.
Another significant multimedia theater project Fantasy Warp was created in 2011, which builds up an outstanding experience for audience in a new kind of immersive and interactive multimedia theater. Later on, in 2014, a fascinating children’s musical, Voyage Undersea , was created. This outstanding theater piece has utilized fascinating 3D animation, vibrant storyline, dance and acrobatics, and beautiful music together with costumed human puppets. In November 2017, the largest video building mapping show The First Seed: Memories of the Banyan Trees was created on the grand new arts center in Kaohsiung. Amazingly a story about a city was told by 3D animation and together with live performers.
Over look years of creative achievements of Wonders of Art. Its great success on the integration between arts and technology has become the true attraction in performing arts creations.
